About

My name is Ally. I like to travel. I also like to eat food. I love writing. This blog is a culmination of all those three things. It will consist of restaurant reviews, travel pieces, recipes I’ve tried and love and anything else under those categories.

I try my best to scour the best food blogs (which are often hard to navigate, or is that just me?!) and provide you with recipes that are really different or unique, and of course really very scrumptious too!)

I live in Sydney, Australia and am currently studying at Uni. I love exercise (to counteract my food obsession), I love tea, I love cupcakes and I love my dog. That’s about it. Oh, and family. Sorry, mum!

One day, I’d love to write for Lonely Planet or be the presenter on the Aussie travel show ‘Getaway’ – although that’s my biggest and probably most unachievable goal but hey, a girl can dream, right?

So please, leave me a comment or like my posts – it really means a lot to me when you do!

Post Script – don’t be surprised if E&T’s blog theme changes on a monthly basis. I get restless and need change like that. I warned you!

Hey Ally, I really love your ideas and the concept of the “Backyard” travel is a brilliant idea. My publishing partner and I were discussing the idea of writing a travelogue about Ballarat and surrounds just the other day. Would love to trade ideas and recipes. By the way, I snuck a few recipes into the back of my book too. :-) Keep up the good work. Ian

    • Hi Ian – thank you! It really is the perfect way to still ‘travel’ and explore our world without having to go interstate or overseas! That’s a brilliant idea, would love to help in any way I can :) Haha recipes are great – food, travel and culture is the perfect trifecta!

      • Danthonia says:

Hahaha looking for project ideas at uni, eh? ;-) I’m completely new to the authoring biz. It makes a great hobby when I’m not teaching.

Hi Ally, thanks so much for the follow on my blog Middle East Moments. Loving your blog as well. The chocolate peanut butter cupcakes are going to be made very soon – and as a bonus I can get all those ingredients in the town in Jordan where I live!!! When I lived in Sydney a friend and I used to have a Wimby (What’s in my backyard?) adventures once a month and be tourists in our own city. We loved exploring the secrets that our harbour city had to offer! It’s something that more people should do when you don’t have the time or money to travel in the traditional sense. Love your enthusiasm and I too love travel, food and writing. Hope you enjoy reading more on my blog. Andrea

    • Oh yay glad you’re going to make them, promise they will be a real hit!
That’s amazing – I should definitely recruit some friends from wimby adventures. There is so much Sydney has to offer (and every other city and country) but we always forgot about it! Exactly, it’s the perfect way to still ‘travel’ without leaving the country or spending money. I will definitely enjoy reading more of your blog, hope you find some more recipes on mine too! :)

  18. Tea, Cupcakes and dogs….we have so much in common! Nice to meet you x

Hey Ally! Just checked out your blog and I like what I see! Love seeing people like you do dessert posts because I am completely lost when it comes to desserts, I just don’t know how to make them! I do know how to eat them, though. Traveling to places and eating/experiencing different cultures and cuisines, there’s nothing like it. Great stuff, looking forward to your future posts =)

  22. Teresa says:

I’ve recently switched my food blog over to be self-hosted which I hope will make it more user-friendly in the future. As a result, if you were following Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen via email, WordPress, or using RSS feeds through Google Reader or some other way, you are no longer subscribed. If you wish to continue receiving future posts from my blog you will need to re-subscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience, Teresa.

  23. Cheers for the visit! Loving the look of your blog, I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to resist making your chocolate and peanut butter buns, they bloomin’ tasty!
