Globe Cafe, Coogee

Generally I am not one for favouritism because I believe everyone (or cafe in this instance) deserves an equal chance.

However, I have to say that for once, with every bit of favouritism, that the Globe cafe in Coogee is one of, if not the best cafes there.

Globe perfectly mixes amazing food, great service, perfect location and a real beachy and casual feel. I often have lunch there after a swim at the beach, dripping salty water on their floors with sand lovingly latched onto my entire body and that’s perfectly acceptable. Perfect, right?

Now Globe is the perfect destination for a weekend brunch, delicious nutritious snack during the day or a casual ‘I’m hungry after tanning/being dumped by huge waves’ lunch. It’s just all together perfect, okay? It’s kid friendly (always a bonus) and fully licensed so if you feel like a glass of wine or a long tall glass of something else with your lunch, they can fulfil that desire. Globe really just fulfils all edible desires.

My favourite time to head to Globe is mid morning because I just love, and I mean seriously love, their breakfast/brunch menu. I’m quite predictable – anyone who knows me, also knows I always go for the Chef’s Breakfast.

Perfectly poached eggs with a runny centre, fresh avocado slices, wilted baby spinach and mushrooms so tasty, they literally have you salivating for more, served with toasted olive bread. This dish will please anyone and everyone. Well, almost. – $15.50 **Gluten free bread also available.

And no matter how full I am, I can never refrain from ordering one of the best smoothies I’ve ever tasted, and that’s saying something because I drink a lot of smoothies. A lot.

The Berry smoothie, with mixed berries, honey, yoghurt, ice-cream (naughty – but so what!) and milk, will literally have you begging for one more – I’m not even kidding. If you don’t like berries then you can have a mango, banana or spiro smoothie – all equally as delicious – $6.50.

So next time you’re lying lazily in bed on Sunday morning and decide you want some sunshine and a good breakfast out – try your luck at Globe.

Now you tell me- what is your favourite cafe in Coogee? Or your favourite go-to cafe wherever you live?
